Holography and digital holographic interferometry are the most popular methods of investigations that apply to waves and objects. They involve two distinctive stages and therefore two separate experimental set-ups – one first recording stage which codes the information about the object into an interference figure and a second one which decodes the information with a reconstruction wave diffracted on the interference pattern first recorded by conventional or digital means. In the present thesis I tried to synchronize the two stages within an optoelectronic method which involves the object reconstruction played simultaneously with its holographic recording. The interference pattern encoding the information about the object is digitally recorded and the reconstruction done simultaneously by a playback wave diffracted by a spatial light modulator. The method gives the possibility to investigate in real time, by holographic means, waves, and dynamic phenomenon. I also tried to develop a compact experimental configuration which can be used for in situ applications, and I also proposed different experimental applications for structural diagnosis in painted surfaces – oil and fresco – for small lateral displacements and for real-time visualization of dynamic processes in transparent (phase) objects such liquids with the main purpose to prove the method applicability.
